Who we are

Freedom Wellbeing Project CIC is a community development project formed by Jackie Heffer-Cooke, senior yogi and scholar of Global Social Development. Set up to empower, inspire and share yoga with underserved communities in Norfolk, we are supporting children and young people to achieve better mental, emotional and physical health.

Our mission

To create sustainable positive change through impactful community development projects which empower, inspire and share yoga and wellbeing practices  with children and young people in Norfolk from all communities.

Our vision

We see a world of thriving mental, physical and social wellbeing, where the benefits of yoga and wellbeing are authentically accessible and socially inclusive of all communities.

Wellbeing for all

The CIC aims are to ensure that therapeutic tools and techniques including breathwork, mindfulness, sharing circles and yoga are accessible for everyone, and especially for people who experience enduring barriers to financial security, wellbeing and health.

Our current SunFyr Wellbeing project focuses on supporting children and young people across all of Norfolk.

Project team

Jackie Heffer-Cooke

Director & CEO

Jackie has been teaching yoga for 15 years and is a master in massage bodywork, a senior yogi, a hypnobirthing trainer, a stress management and mindfulness coach as well as a former TV producer, and a writer for Om magazine amongst others.

Jackie graduated with distinction from the University of East Anglia (UEA) in 2025, earning a Master’s in Global Social Development. Her studies are rooted in service and a desire to create meaningful, practical change in communities facing need. She holds a particular interest in how yoga can support the overall wellbeing of children and young people, including those with neurodivergent profiles. Her recent research project, Awkward Education, explored the prevailing narratives surrounding neurodiversity—particularly ADHD and autism—within mainstream educational frameworks, with a focus on inclusion, identity, and emotional health.
