We ✦ are making change in local communities

We deliver yoga and wellbeing programmes across Norfolk, sharing the transformative benefits of mindful movement, breathwork, and emotional regulation with children and young people. By training those already embedded in schools and community settings, we aim to reach areas of greatest need - ensuring that wellbeing is accessible, relevant and sustainable. Our work is rooted in real-world impact, empowering practitioners to create lasting change and make a tangible impact on young people’s wellbeing and daily life.

A wellbeing crisis

Good mental and physical health and wellbeing is critical, yet mindfulness tools and techniques are not accessible to everyone to help them in times of need. We are working across all community groups and are particularly interested in working with those particularly vulnerable to social isolation, crisis situations and lower mental and physical health and wellbeing.

With 1 in 5 children aged 8-25 likely to have a mental health problem, wellbeing tools and resources are more important than ever to help the next generation calm and regulate when they need to.

All people deserve access to the Ancient teachings, modern interpretations of yoga and other mindfulness practices; together we can share it with all, and help communities breath.

Our impact

SunFyr Wellbeing Project is a training project which nurtures and supports specialist practitioners to facilitate positive health and wellbeing across local social networks across Norfolk.

Through active in-person training, each practitioner will support  schools or community groups to improve access to wellbeing, belonging and yoga for young people in Norfolk.

Our certified yoga and wellbeing practitioners will be trained to deliver a specialist yoga programme in one of 2 key areas of need; yoga and wellbeing for children or yoga and wellbeing for teens.

We plan to reach and support at least 240 more individuals this year as part of the programme, with each practitioner supporting young people in their community going forwards.

What we did in 2024

We are now into our 3rd year! Last year we delivered our Yoga in Action training programme in 2024, offering free training in Pregnancy Yoga, Mum & Baby Yoga, and Kids Yoga.

Thanks to funded by National Lottery Good Cause, we were able to offer the ZenMuma and ZenKids yoga and wellbeing programmes completely free to local communities across Norfolk. This training empowered participants to become specialist yoga practitioners, ready to deliver inclusive and accessible classes within the communities they already serve.

In yoga, this spirit of service is known as Karma Yoga - which translates to “Yoga in Action.” We believe deeply in the healing power of movement, breathwork, mindfulness and visualisation, especially when shared with those most in need of connection, care and community - pregnant women, new mums, children and families.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple purpose: to help build compassionate, resilient communities that support one another through the good times and the tough ones too.

Key outcomes

  • Our programme will support the physical and mental health and wellbeing of young people across Norfolk by sharing the benefits of yoga, mindful movement, breathwork and sharing circles with those that otherwise might not be able to access these resources.

  • We are creating high impact and sustainable social change in local communities by equipping practitioners, schools, charities and community hubs with the knowledge and understanding to share yoga and wellbeing with the people that need it most on their doorstep.

  • Our aim is to empower by training and mentoring practitioners to feel confident and resourced to share yoga with all groups. We will create a growing network of Kids & Teen yoga and wellbeing practitioners, amplifying the impact we are able to have across the region.
