Yoga      for teens

Training dates: first intake - 14th, 15, 16th Oct & second intake - 2nd, 3rd, 4th Dec 2025

Funded training to share the transformative power of yoga with teenagers (Key Stage 3) in your school or community. In recent years, rates of anxiety, depression, and emotional distress among teens have risen dramatically, further intensified by social pressures, academic demands, and the lasting impact of the pandemic. Yoga offers a proven pathway to support self-regulation, confidence, and emotional resilience in young people. Now more than ever, we need to bring these tools directly to the spaces where teens learn and grow. Train with us and be part of that change.

Empower young people: train with us

We are looking for applicants from secondary schools, charities, and community hubs to join a fully funded training programme designed to increase access to yoga and wellbeing for children across Norfolk. The programme includes three days of in-person training at SunFyr Barns, after which you will be equipped to offer free children’s yoga classes in your local community. We’ll support you to feel confident in sharing mindful movement, breathwork, and inclusive yoga practices that help teenagers feel calm, connected, and supported.

Increase your impact and better serve the communities on your doorstep; choose to specialise in yoga for teens and start supporting local families today.

Applicants might be a parent running a community group, a Forest School or outdoor learning leader, a SEN specialist or practitioner, a teaching assistant, teacher or nursery worker - or hold another relevant community-based role connected to young people.

Course content

Teen’s Yoga based movement & mindfulness, key stage 3 (secondary school age) delivered via the ZenTeens programme

  • Teaching teen yoga should centre around content that is relevant, engaging, and inspiring - while always prioritising safety. Classes should be thoughtfully designed to be inclusive, purposeful, physically supportive, and grounded in mindfulness.

  • Each teen yoga session is built around key elements that support both body and mind. With a strong connection to PE and PSHE, classes are designed to promote physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Lessons incorporate a thoughtfully chosen theme, along with breathwork, mindfulness practices, gentle warm-ups, yoga postures, relaxation techniques, and guided meditation.

  • Written by our experienced and inspiring Occupational Therapist, who specialises in supporting schools, this module explores the foundations of safe teaching with a focus on body awareness. It covers the muscular and skeletal systems, core strength, and motor skills, with yoga asana chosen to support the natural development of the teen body.

You’ll also explore basic physiology and body systems, along with recommended postures to help promote long-term physical health and wellbeing.

  • Developed by experienced yoga professionals, occupational therapists, and educators, this course equips you with the confidence, skills, and understanding to teach yoga and mindfulness to today’s Generation Z.

It’s an ideal resource for supporting PE and PSHE in schools, offering practical, accessible tools that promote both physical and mental wellbeing - simple to learn, powerful to share.

  • With years of experience delivering teen yoga and mindfulness in ways that are engaging, relatable and meaningful, we’ll share a wealth of ideas and ready-to-use class content to support your teaching journey.

You’ll come away with practical sessions you can confidently deliver, all centred around core themes that matter most to teens: self-calm, self-belief, self-care, positivity, inner strength and connection.

  • This module explores how to make ancient yogic wisdom meaningful for today’s young people. We dive into values such as peace, truth, honesty, freedom, contentment, determination, insight, resilience, and compassion, translating them into practices that speak to Generation Z.

Using poetry, music, science, philosophy and inspiring quotes, we encourage thoughtful discussion and self-reflection, all woven into purposeful yoga practices teens can relate to and grow from.
